FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how Klare works, what it costs, and who does the work. Anything not covered here, just ask Klare in chat.
The basics
What is Klare?
Klare is an AI concierge that lives entirely in chat. Tell Klare what's broken, in any language, and we scope the job, find a trusted local provider, agree a fair price before any work starts, handle the scheduling, and report back with photos when it's done. You never have to find, vet or chase anyone yourself.
How do I get started?
Just send a message. There's no signup, no forms and nothing to install: message Klare via email and describe the problem the way you'd text a friend who knows everyone.
What kind of jobs do you handle?
All the common home trades: AC, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, roofing, construction, pool care, garden and welding. If your problem doesn't fit a neat box, describe it anyway and Klare will tell you straight whether we can help.
Is there anything you don't do?
Three things, always: we never order or buy materials, we never hold your money (you pay the provider directly, at the price agreed up front), and we never arrange anything illegal or unsafe. Beyond that, ask — if a trusted local provider can do it, it is our job to find them. And for a genuine emergency, a fire, a gas smell, a live wire in water, call the emergency services first, then message us.
Which areas do you cover?
We are in early access and opening markets one at a time. Ask and we will tell you straight away whether we cover you yet — and if we do not, we would still like to know what you needed.
What languages can I write in?
Whatever language you write in, Klare writes back in. Each provider hears from Klare in their own language too, and every message both ways is translated and polished, so nothing gets lost between you.
Can I send photos or voice notes?
Yes, please do. A photo or a short voice note is often the fastest way to scope a problem, and Klare understands voice notes in any language.
How fast do you reply?
Klare replies in chat within minutes, day or night. How soon the work happens depends on the trade and the schedule: a common repair can often be booked for the same or next day, and if anything will take longer, you'll know before you commit.
Do you have an app?
You don't need one, everything works in chat. A mobile app is on the way, with live job status and photos in one place; message Klare via email if you'd like to know when it lands.
Pricing & payment
How much does a repair cost?
You get a fair-market estimate before anyone is contacted. For example, a split-AC service is typically $25–35 and a common plumbing fix $15–30. Klare quotes from a real price index, and the price is locked before work starts.
What does Klare itself cost?
Klare is a monthly subscription, and your first jobs are free to try — no card, no countdown. After that, plans start at the price on our pricing section, each covering a set number of jobs a month. You can change or stop your plan any time by saying so in the chat.
Is it free to ask?
Yes. Describing a job, getting it scoped and getting a quote costs nothing, and you'll always see the full agreed price before you commit to any work. What you subscribe for is Klare doing the finding, negotiating and chasing.
How do I pay?
There are two separate payments, and they never mix. The WORK: you pay the provider directly once the job is done and you've confirmed you're happy, at exactly the price agreed and recorded before they started — Klare never asks you to send money through the chat and takes no cut of it. Klare ITSELF: a monthly subscription, by card, through Stripe.
Can the price change mid-job?
Not on its own, that's the point of locking it. If the provider finds more than expected once the work is open, the change comes back through Klare, gets re-quoted, and only goes ahead once you've agreed. Nobody renegotiates with you from the top of a ladder.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Most repairs don't need one. When a bigger job needs materials up front, that's agreed through Klare first and recorded, so there's a clear written trail before you pay anything.
Providers & the work
Who actually does the work?
Local providers, ranked on what we actually know about them: their public reviews, and once they have worked through Klare, how those jobs went and how clients rated them. The first time we use someone we tell you so. And if anything is off, Klare sorts it: a redo, a replacement, or we step in.
Can I talk to the provider directly?
No, and that's by design. You and the provider each have your own private chat with Klare, in your own languages, and Klare carries everything between the two: the scope, the negotiation, the schedule. It's what keeps the price honest and the job on track, and it means you never have to chase anyone.
What if the provider doesn't show up?
Klare re-matches another trusted provider at the same agreed price, usually within hours, keeping your scope, price and schedule intact. You don't start over and you don't renegotiate.
What if I'm not happy with the work?
You confirm the job is done before it's closed. If something's off, Klare steps back in and sorts it with the provider, so you're never left arguing in a language you don't speak.
What if something breaks again afterwards?
Message the same chat. The whole job is on record, the scope, the price, the photos, so Klare picks it straight back up with the provider and works out a fix.
Privacy & your data
Who can see my messages and my address?
Your chats stay between you and Klare and are used to run your jobs. A provider only gets what they need to do the work, when they need it, and never your phone number, since all contact runs through Klare. The details are in our privacy policy.
Do you store my card or bank details?
No. If you subscribe, your card is held by Stripe, our payment processor, and never reaches us. And the money for the work never touches Klare at all — you pay the provider directly.
Can I delete my data?
Yes, any time. Use the delete my data page or email hello@heyklare.com and we'll remove your information.
Still wondering about something? The fastest way to find out is to ask Klare directly. Asking is free, and you'll get a straight answer.
